California Takes Down Online Health Insurance Exchange for Small Businesses
Washington Post (02/14/14) Harrison, J.D.
California officials announced Feb. 13 that the Covered California online health insurance portal would no longer offer plans for small businesses. Plans still can be purchased through the state’s Small Business Health Options Program over the phone, via paper applications, or through insurance agents. In the four months since the online exchange for small businesses was launched, nearly 600 small firms enrolled in plans. The employer exchange is expected to go back online in the fall.
