Mealey’s Insurance – Judge: Evidence Exists That Insurer May Be Liable For Acts Of Insurance Agents
DAYTON, Ohio - A claimant alleged sufficient evidence to maintain negligence and breach of fiduciary duty claims against a life insurance company for the alleged tortious acts of its insurance agents, an Ohio federal judge ruled Jan. 28 (Van Stickney v. United Insurance Group Agency Inc., et al., No. 13-235, S.D. Ohio; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 10274).
