Quinn Emanuel launches new health care fraud practice, forsees ‘exponential’ growth


Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has launched a new health care fraud practice group.

It is headed by Sam S. Sheldon, 43, who started work Monday as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of the the 600-attorney business litigation firm, reports Reuters.

He formerly worked for the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as deputy chief of the Criminal Fraud Division and headed the Health Care Fraud Unit, and previously tried health care fraud cases as an assistant U.S. attorney general in the Southern District of Texas.

“We see the health care fraud practice growing exponentially over the next decade,” said managing partner John Quinn in a written statement provided to the news agency.
